For Star Wars fans, the Holiday Special 1978 holds a special place in the heart. This place could be a paradise of nostalgia but most of the time it is just plain disappointment.
The film was created to premiere directly on TV, as an intermediate step between the first two films of the first Star Wars trilogy. Despite featuring the main original actors, the premise and storytelling did not impress anyone. Luke, Leia, Han Solo and Chewbacca, as well as C-3PO and R2-D2, were not enough argument to convince even fans of the first film. The appearance of the Chewbacca family did not soften hearts either.
Now about the attempt at redemption. It is difficult for any special to perform worse, so any success will mean profit. On November 17th, Disney+ returns to the Holiday Specials with Lego Star Wars. In addition to elements from the infamous 1978 film, it will also feature characters from all nine Star Wars films.
This is just one example of the exclusive content from the Galaxy far, far away that is being created for Disney+.
Will Lego toys do a better job than Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford?
